about

The concert of Lithuanian jazz legends will take place in the space of Birštonas Kurhaus. His axis is a unique, instant creation that cannot be missed - must be heard.
This trio "Alliance" was formed even a quarter of a century ago.
Jazz keyboardist and composer Vyacheslav Ganelin has been living in Israel since 1987. Before that, for almost 20 years (1968-1984), he worked as the head of the music department of the Lithuanian State Russian Drama Theater.
During that period, the artist created various academic music, composed for cinema, theater, and was awarded many times.
Ganelinas has written music for more than 60 films and more than 40 theater performances, as well as three operas, several ballets, 6 musicals, concerts for various instruments and still periodically presents premieres of large-scale works in Lithuania.
In the world of jazz, the maestro is most vividly immortalized as the leader of the legendary trio with Vladimir Chekasin and Vladimir Tarasov. This ensemble existed in 1971-1986 and gave a powerful impulse to the Lithuanian jazz school. His traditions are still alive in the works of Vilnius jazz musicians.
It was the first collective of the Soviet Union, which became popular in Europe with its authentic, non-imitating American jazz creations. It has established itself in the history of world jazz music as one of the most prominent non-American jazz groups of all time.
The trio toured the entire Old Continent, USA, toured South America, Canada, Cuba. To promote his music, producer Leo Feigin founded the record company "Leo Records" in London, which has so far released 19 albums of this trio and its leader.
The legendary collective briefly resumed its activities on the occasion of the 2003 Frankfurt Book Fair and in 2017, when it was awarded the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Award for its contribution to jazz.
In 2014, Ganelinas won the "Vilnius Jazz" award for his contribution to jazz in the country. In 2010, he was awarded the "Golden Disc" of the Lithuanian Musicians' Union. The maestro's contributions to the country's culture were also recognized with the Knight's Cross of the Grand Order of Vytautas (2003), and the Landau Prize for Israeli jazz (2005).
Ganelin is doing well in Israel. Back in 1988, he was admitted to the Israeli Composers' Union, immediately began teaching at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and soon became the head and professor of the Jazz Department.
The maestro initiated many "free" jazz and inter-genre art projects, organizes the international "Jazz Globus" festival in Israel.
