The 22nd World Radio Orienteering Championship is taking place in Birštonas

The 22nd IARU World Radio Orienteering Championships are taking place in Birštonas from August 16 to 21, bringing together 310 participants from 25 countries, including athletes from Australia, the USA, Japan, South Korea, Canada, and neighboring European countries.

Lithuania's honor is defended by the largest team in history, consisting of thirty athletes, including the oldest participant in the competition, 88-year-old Algimantas Dapkus, a long-time radio orienteering enthusiast and coach.
Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) is a special sport that combines orienteering skills with the use of radio equipment. Participants wear special sensors to search for transmitters, also known as radio beacons, placed in different parts of the forest.
