Students camped near Birštonas
During the camp, teenagers aged 11-16 rowed Viking boats "žalčiai", kayaks and paddleboards, competed in team LazertTAG and "Dragon" rowing battles, completed a mountaineering and obstacle course course, shot archery, traveled on foot and by bicycle, spent the night in tents, learned the secrets of independence and survival in nature, constructed camp structures from ropes, sticks or logs, learned about plants, made bonfires, and went horseback riding in the Gynia Valley.
Students collaborated by playing sports and strategic team-building games, completed tasks in creative workshops and evening programs, talked about their day's experiences around bonfires, tasted wild strawberries, and went swimming a lot.
Camping in nature enhanced the benefits of physical activity, while participation with peers provided good emotions, new experiences, developed independence, self-confidence, and expanded socialization opportunities, which is especially important for adolescents.
The project was partially funded by Kaunas Municipality under the initiative program "Initiatives for Kaunas". The project funding made it possible to significantly reduce the cost of the camp, and to fully cover the costs of participation for almost a third of campers.
