March 11, uniting Lithuania and Ukraine

Long before the start of the festive event, the working youth of Birštonas could be noticed in the Municipality Square. The colors of the flags of both countries were made meaningful by almost 1,000 windmills.
A large group of Birštonas and resort guests gathered for the event. They not only listened to Lithuanian and Ukrainian songs, but also adorned their acquired Ukrainian paraphernalia, tasted authentic Ukrainian borscht and generously donated to the NGO Blue and Yellow. In just a few hours, € 2,160 was raised!
It was good to see not only indifferent adults, but also sincere people who sincerely wanted to help. The children did not spare even their last savings, claiming that they are very sorry for their peers in Ukraine. This attitude of young citizens is inspiring, exciting and gratifying for the growing generation of civic and kind-hearted people.
