about

"I choose love," UFC champion Rose Namajunas tells herself every morning. In the ring, this fighter moves to the rhythm of the music, and after her victories, she wraps herself in the tricolor. A professional athlete born into a family of artists from Lithuania reveals the fundamental difference between violence and struggle in this sensitive and painfully open documentary. Although the journey to the championship belt took an insanely long time, Rose's self-confidence led her forward, and the biggest reward was the people around and supporting her. It can be said that she is a real artist herself, who found an antidote to the difficulties experienced in her childhood.
Marius A. Markevicius (born in 1976 in California, USA) is the author of one of the most watched documentaries in Lithuania. "The Other Dream Team" is a story about the success of Lithuanian basketball players in the 1992 Olympic Games, the pursuit of freedom and the collapse of the Soviet Union. The American-Lithuanian also directed the most successful film of all time shown in Lithuanian cinemas - the screen adaptation of the novel about exile "Ashes in the Snow". With the story about Rose Namajunas, he continues his mission to tell the whole world about the small but brave Lithuanian nation. It is symbolic - it is the "Next Dream Team" that the main heroine mentions as a great inspiration in the latest film by Marius A. Markevicius.
The film is in Lithuanian and English with Lithuanian subtitles.
