May 7th - Day of reclaiming the press, speech and book. On that day in 1904, we were freed from the ban on the Lithuanian press. During the difficult 40-year period of Lithuania's history, the Russian tsarist government banned the essential signs of our nationhood - the Lithuanian press, book publishing, and free speech. This year we celebrate the 120th anniversary of the recovery of printing in Latin characters.
In cooperation with Birštonas Gymnasium, Lithuanian language and literature teacher Methodist V. Kurtovienes, head of Lithuanian language and literature. teacher I. Montvydiene, we organized the photo contest "Book and Man".
