In 1992, Lithuania is drowning in a major economic crisis: there is no work, banks are going bankrupt, and queues are stretching for a kilo of sausage that costs 350 talons. Irena, a strong woman on whose shoulders the entire collective farm of Biednii village stood, tries to maintain the pig farm and its workers. Only a miracle can help her. And it happens! More precisely, it arrives. Bernard, a charming American, arrives in the village in a red Cadillac. And he promises: there is not much left to suffer - he will save the farm from bankruptcy and soon the inhabitants of Biednii will live like in America. Will Bernard help Irene save the pigs? Or maybe stick a pig for them yourself?
