The painter Vincent van Gogh, urged by his friend the painter Paul Gauguin, comes from Paris to the quiet town of Arles. Peace, the idyll of rural nature inspires the artist. Here he painted his most famous works. But the new life takes on other colors as well. The world of the artist is alien and incomprehensible to the villagers. He has a passionate discussion about God with the local priest, he consoles the visiting brother Theo about the demons that visit him. Aware of his growing madness, Vincent van Gogh became even more passionate.
