about

Marc Ducret will play guitar, and Liudas Mockūnas - saxophone.

Marc Ducret is one of today's most original improvisers and one of the brightest names of the French avant-garde. In his work, the heritages of different eras and regions merge. M. Ducret can strike as if from an ambush with knock-out waves of noise, lull you with unique flamenco paraphrases, or even transform William Shakespeare's "Macbeth" with the sounds of music, on which the 2019 edition is based. developed by Lady M.
Having started his career in folk, rock, dance music groups, this guitarist turned to jazz in the 1990s. In 1991, M. Ducret began collaborating with one of the most influential American saxophonists, Tim Berne. The tandem of the two became a widely discussed phenomenon among world music lovers and put M. Ducret on the global pedestal of avant-garde music and allowed him to establish himself in the birthplace of jazz - the United States of America. Across the Atlantic, the talented guitarist actively collaborates with David Sanborn, Django Bates, Joey Baron, David Friedmann and others.

Liudas Mockūnas is a piper and composer whose name guarantees masterful performance and compositional intrigue. His musical language is an energetic mixture of free jazz, lyricism and expressionism, conveyed through unorthodox means of expression. After delving into the nature of sound and the possibilities of overtones, he created an individual style of playing wind instruments, separated from stylistic dogmas, enriched with multiphonic techniques, expressive sound discharges and overtones, and unusual sound effects. Having acquired both jazz and academic education, with a deep feeling and command of a wide range of styles, he dissolves the boundaries between jazz and contemporary academic music in his music.
