Lauris Rundl's comedy is a film about the colorful life of the Tarkinen family in the last years of the Soviet era in Estonia. Johannes was born into an unusual Finnish family. When his mother decided to go to Finland to work, the boy stayed with his grandparents in Sillamäe. Johannes has to learn the realities of life himself. He falls in love with his classmate Vera, fights, takes risks, and gets punished... In the background of all this, the empire of evil, considered eternal, falls apart. Monuments to Lenin are defeated, in their place come colorful barbies and advertising, nobody needs crocodile genes and Muscovites, and the door to the West has opened wide!
