ŠIRVINTOS REGION

On 15th December 2007 the TIC of Birštonas and representatives from tourism services celebrated the end of the tourist season. The TIC invited the entrepreneurs of Birštonas to an unconventional itinerant meeting in Širvintos region. This way of discussing the problems and achievements of the year was suggested by the colleagues from Širvintos, who had visited Birštonas hotels and restaurants two months before. After the visit, they invited the representatives of Birštonas to Širvintos and promised to share their experience in expanding the tourism sector. 
A small delegation from Birštonas had a chance to visit the restored Manor of Šešuolėliai, Manor of Gaideliai undergoing restoration, eroding Manor of Čiobiškis, take a walk in Kernavė and gallery of metal plastics situated there, visit the homesteads of rural tourism, gallery of fireclay pottery, open-air park of sculptures, and touch a wooden bus “Kernavetė”. The picturesque region of Širvintos can boast not only of Kernavė, but also of manors, and creative and initiative artists, who exhibit their works in galleries and their workshops. Anyone interested in art is welcome.
