Continuing international partnership – Birštonas delegation visits Elko
For a year, Birštonas and Elkas have been cooperating to strengthen the positions and awareness of these areas as a destination for working roofs. At the final conference, representatives of the tourism sector and public administration of both cities presented the implemented activities, achieved results, shared experience and insights. Much attention was paid to the marketing of the working roof segment, the benefits for the region, the tourism sector and HoReCa, as well as the development strategy of the "Darbostogos" brand.
The conference program was supplemented by a study tour of Elk: event participants visited the Cultural Center, Copernicus Park, tennis courts, rowing center, as well as the Ecology Center, observation tower, museum, campsite, and beaches.
The Birštonas delegation consisted of representatives of the Birštonas Municipality - Vice Mayor E. Citvaras and Head of the Budget and Accounting Department I. Sinica, employees of the Birštonas Tourism Information Center, as well as representatives of the Birštonas Cultural Center, Birštonas Sports Center, Birštonas Museum, the newspaper "Gyvenimas" and Birštonas Gymnasium, "Pramogų kalnas" and other tourism service providers - a total of 13 people.
The conference was organized within the framework of the project No. LTPL00290 "Workshops - as a tourism destination in border areas", funded under the 2021-2027 European Neighborhood Instrument Interreg VI-A Cross-Border Cooperation Programme between Lithuania and Poland.
