Birštonas Resort Introduced in Poland – an Important Target Tourism Market
The presentation was lively and engaging – the event participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the uniqueness of Birštonas not only through informational materials, but also practically: the mineral water of Birštonas spas was presented, as well as the healing mud used in sanatoriums, which is an important part of wellness procedures.
The Polish market remains a priority for the development of Birštonas tourism. According to 2024 data, the flow of tourists from Poland has increased by as much as 63 percent. Polish travelers currently account for 4.7 percent of all foreign guests, and the growth trend remains stable - the 2019 level has already been exceeded.
In 2024, Polish tourists chose to stay in:
36 percent – hotels;
29 percent – camping and glamping;
16 percent – sanatoriums and their services;
13 percent - holiday homes.
The average length of stay is 2 nights.
This presentation is part of a consistently implemented marketing plan. The main focus is on contact and remote presentations - exhibitions, tourism fairs, city festivals and information dissemination through various channels. Media representatives, travel agencies, tour operators, opinion leaders and bloggers are invited to the educational tours.
On the way to the launch event, the Birštonas delegation visited the impressive Stanczyki Bridge Complex in northern Poland. Interestingly, most of the visitors who visited here on Sunday morning were Lithuanian travelers, which once again proves that the modernized Polish road infrastructure is particularly encouraging Lithuanians to choose this country for short trips and weekend getaways this year.
