A pumpkin garden will be lit up in Birštonas this weekend - the resort will celebrate the autumn holidays in a cozy way

Themed events, concerts, glowing pumpkin installations and carving workshops, Nightmare's Chills, and culinary discoveries await you here until All Souls' Day.

According to Rūta Kapačinskaitė, director of the Birštonas Tourism Information Center, the opening of the glowing pumpkin garden has already become a resort tradition, bringing together the city community and guests for the cozy and magical atmosphere of this period. “We invite everyone to take a break in Birštonas, slow down with nature, and enjoy the light installations and events that will flood the entire city,” says R. Kapačinskaitė.

Opening ceremony: fire show and glowing hot air balloon

The resort's autumn festival kicks off on Friday, October 24, at 7 p.m., at the Kneipp Garden. The opening of the "Glowing Pumpkin Garden" will be graced by the medieval fire show "Inferno" - a dramatic spectacle with flames and music, as well as a glowing hot air balloon (weather permitting), attracting crowds of curious onlookers, and a mountain near the Kurhaus, specially illuminated for the celebration.
That same evening, a pumpkin carving contest will be held, where you can bring your own orange vegetable, and the most ingeniously carved or decorated pumpkin will win. While the responsible voting is taking place, guests will be able to enjoy hot tea and fragrant pumpkin soup.
On Friday, the festive events initiated by the Birštonas Museum will also begin: a creepy photo shoot against the backdrop of an interwar villa, a detective-orientation game inspired by real events "Adventures of the Resort Idiots", a coloring workshop for children, and a clay workshop "Maple Leaf" at the Birštonas Sacred Museum. You can also participate in them on October 25 and 26.
Even more adrenaline and adventure await in the escape room "Abandoned House. Traps", which will be open throughout the festive period - but will you have time to escape?

Autumn cultural and culinary program

There will also be many concerts in the mysteriously illuminated Birštonas. On October 24, at 6 pm, a concert by Liudas Mikalauskas and Egidijus Bavikinas will be held at the Birštonas Cultural Center, and at 7 pm, an evening of vocal ensembles will be held in the Birštonas Eldership. On October 25, in the Kurhaus, there will be a concert by pianist Martyna Kučinskaitė "21st century Lithuanian women's work for piano".

The resort's Halloween events will begin on October 31st at the Versmė sanatorium's biuvette. There will be pumpkin carving workshops, music, hot tea and pumpkin pie, and the evening can be continued at the Halloween cabaret organized by the EGO SPA hotel (adults only).
Pumpkins will decorate not only the spaces of Birštonas, but also the menu. Throughout the festive period, the resort's restaurants and cafes will dedicate this autumn vegetable - from pumpkin soup with fried shrimp, pumpkin donuts or stuffed ravioli to a special autumn menu in which pumpkins will be the main characters. Hotels and cafes will also tempt guests with special Halloween decorations.
For those arriving from other cities, the symbol of the resort – the observation tower – will become a landmark leading to the glowing pumpkin resort. As the evenings get darker and darker and the special autumn season is celebrated, it will glow orange and invite visitors to immerse themselves in the resort’s entertainment. In addition, an artistic composition of pumpkins decorated with lights will be arranged in the courtyard of the Birštonas Art School throughout the weekend, and other places in the resort will also be pleasantly illuminated.
It is recommended to explore the sparkling Birštonas with the excursion electric car "Birštonas tours", which will allow you not only to admire the spaces decorated with pumpkins, but also to hear the history of the resort.
