9th Birštonas Summer Arts Academy: famous names of the musical world, festival and master classes for everyone
Throughout the week, wonderful jazz, vocal music, a piano recital, chamber music opuses, and a theatrical production of VA Mozart's opera will be played at the resort. At the same time, there will be master classes, meetings and discussions with the stars of the musical world.
"The international project of the Birštonas Summer Arts Academy was conceived back in 2012. That year, together with cellist, maestro David Gering and Japanese ballerina Emi Hariyama, we presented the music and dance performance "BACH PLUS" to the national audience. While traveling around Lithuania, we once chose Birštonas, then unknown to us, for a night's stay. In the morning we saw the enchanting beauty of nature, and later thoughts about this wonderful resort located in the bend of the Nemunas came back more and more often in conversations with David Gering", says its creator Audronė Žigaitytė about the beginning of the project.
The Birštonas summer arts academy and the festival "Birštonas summer music" that grew out of it will be held in the resort for the ninth time. All week from July 30 until August 6 for guests and residents of the resort, a musical celebration and performances will be organized by guests of the Academy of Arts and festival participants: Petras Vyšniauskas (saxophone, accordion, piano), Vytautas Labutis (saxophone, bass clarinet, piano), Eugenijus Kanevičius (double bass), Arkadijus Gotesmanas (percussion), Agnė Buškevičiūtė-Tumalavičienė (soprano), Sonata Alšauskaitė (piano).
Vacationers in Biršton will be able to enjoy wonderful jazz, vocal music, a piano recital, chamber music opuses and a theatrical concert of VA Mozart's opera "The Marriage of Figaro". Traditionally, "Evening serenades" will be held in "Eglės" sanatorium, the culmination of which is the folk song competition to win the Birštonas mayor's cup, which has become another tradition of the Birštonas summer arts academy.
The most important highlight of Birštonas summer arts academy is master classes for young musicians, music teachers of music, art and general education schools, music art specialists and amateurs. The priceless secrets of mastery will be shared this year by David Gerings, the "godfather" of Birštonas Summer Arts Academy, and other educators: cellist Ramutė Kalnėnaitė, violinists Dalia Kuznecovaitė and Nijolė Prascevičienė, pianists Petras Geniušas and Darius Mažintas, singers Asta Krikščiūnaitė, Ekaterina Somicheva (soprano, Germany), conductor, harpsichordist and pianist Ekaterina Porizko (Germany). Pianists Lina Šatkutė, Roberta Daugėlaitė and Arsenijus Jesaulkovas will assist the young performers.
