The government has not extended restrictions on movement between municipalities, and movement across the country will be liberalized from midnight on Wednesday.

"About 3,000 police officers worked to ensure the control of movement restrictions this festive weekend alone, they were assisted by Sagittarius, military police, Public Security Service officials and other partners. Some of these people did not have the opportunity to sit with their families at the Easter table. Therefore, I would like to thank them all once again for their work during a period of special importance to Lithuania. On Sunday, together with the Commissioner General of Police, we visited several checkpoints, it is clear that the majority of people drove for a reason and took care of the necessary documents, however, more than 1,700 vehicles were turned around and 136 people were fined. I hope that strict movement control during the festive period will help us to maintain stable morbidity rates and gradually move towards greater releases, ”says Minister of the Interior Agnė Bilotaitė

Restrictions on movement in Lithuania began in mid-December, and from 16 March they were lifted in most parts of the country, leaving only in municipalities with the worst epidemiological situation. However, since March 27, the ban on movement between the country's municipalities has been lifted, with the exception of circular municipalities, in order to reduce the number of contacts.

According to the Department of Statistics, the indicator of new diseases in the last 14 days is 100 thousand. population reaches 382.3 cases. The share of positive diagnostic tests in the last seven days is 7.5 percent.
