More than 50 restaurants invite you to taste trips during the Gastronomy Week

The reservation of places in restaurants begins. Less than three weeks before the Lithuanian Gastronomy Week, which will be held on November 7-13, the list of its participants is published today and reservation of places in restaurants starts.

In total, more than 50 restaurants are participating in the XII Gastronomy Week, located not only in the major cities of the country - Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, but also in Anykščiai, Birštona, Jonišky, Šakiai, Palanga, Panevėžys district. The menu prepared by the participants of the week will invite restaurant visitors to travel to various countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America and Africa, to travel back in time to the gastronomic past of Lithuania and to get to know individual regions of the country better.

This week's theme - flavors - gave the participants an even greater impetus to think more carefully and look for ways to reveal the flavors of the selected world cuisine and how the restaurant menu can become a means for guests to get to know not only a specific country or a separate region of Lithuania, but also to transport them in time to different historical stages" , - says Jūratė Mikalkėnienė, executive director of the Association of Lithuanian Head Chefs and Pastry Chefs.

Director of the Lithuanian Hotel and Restaurant Association Eglė Ližaitytė urges you to carefully review the list of participants and pay attention to participants in different regions of Lithuania. In Aukštaitija, for example, guests will be welcomed by the "Virtienius restoranėlis", which presents a unique menu of Joniškis region's virtienės. Its owners will prepare bacon, Ionian, cottage cheese with tarragon and Medvilioniai manor rolls for the residents of Aukštaitija and its guests, serve them with sauerkraut and sour cream, as well as encourage them to taste Winter dishes and teach them how to roll the rolls and how to knead the dough for them correctly.
