In Birštona, during the winter holidays, guests are welcome, and those who arrive have an interactive parking space system

The businessmen of the resort calculate that in December the occupancy in hotels and spa centers reaches over 70 percent, but the places for the New Year's party are melting fast, and in some places they are no longer available. Birštonas welcomes guests with another innovation - an interactive system of parking spaces on the Nemunas embankment.

A convenient innovation awaits those who are ready to come to Birštonas for the winter holidays - a smart system of parking spaces, which stretches across Algirdas street, located on the Nemunas embankment. In the new free parking areas, there are light boards that show available and occupied parking spaces in real time. This information can also be viewed on the interactive map in the Birštonas resort app " Birštonas " and on the websites of the Municipality and Tourism Information Center: www.birstonas.lt and www.visitbirstonas.lt . The interactive map link on smartphones is currently working on the Android operating system, and will be available for iOS users after system approval. The information in the link is updated every two minutes.

"Such a parking spot monitoring system is the only one in Lithuanian resorts so far. In addition, soon the interactive map of parking places will be expanded and will work in many streets of the resort", says Edvardas Citvaras, head of the Strategic Planning and Investments Department of the Birštonas Municipality Administration.

Birštonas welcomes its guests not only with renewed city infrastructure, but also, traditionally, with an abundance of festive events and offers. The resort hosts exhibitions and performances throughout December, as well as Christmas concerts. One such is the new year's concert "Mes – Lietuva!" by the "Lietuva" ensemble. Fans of Merūnas Vitulskis will be able to spend the last evening of the year together with the artist's most beautiful songs at two "Open Heart" concerts.

Rūta Kapačinskaitė, director of the Birštonas Tourism Information Center, says that there is no major price jump in the accommodation sector in December. "In the resort, businessmen try to keep the prices the same as in the summer. In some places, they have risen slightly due to increased electricity and heating costs, and the average price of a room during the festive period ranges from 66 EUR to 169 EUR per night. It is encouraging that, for example, there are no more free places for New Year's Eve in the "Versmės" and "Tulpė" sanatoriums," observes R. Kapačinskaitė.

Other sanatoriums and spa centers of the resort invite you to welcome the year 2023. Next to the healing and beauty treatments, swimming pools and saunas, a rich festive program awaits: from gala dinners to tasting menus specially created for the New Year. For music connoisseurs, there will be a banging New Year's "Drums party show" with drums, a cello concert, performances by a Latvian opera tenor and well-known pop music artists.

Those who decide to spend New Year's Eve dining in the resort's restaurants and cafes should also hurry. In most restaurants and cafes in Birštonas, the tables for the festive dinner are booked in advance, several months in advance, but there are still free places in some.

Cozy educational activities and the wonderful nature of Birštonas will help you take a breather from the festive bustle. Guests of the resort are welcome on the gastronomic route of "Čiulba Ulba" and tasting dinners. Participants of the route can get acquainted with the "Culinary History of Birštonas", interwar ladies' and gentlemen's afternoon "tea", many interesting facts, tasks and surprises.
In Žvėrinčiaus forest or Vytautas Jurgis Meška park, there are routes suitable for pedestrians and fresh air baths.
