Around the World in 100 Minutes - this is the name of the singer's latest program, which includes famous works by stars from Great Britain, Ireland, France, Portugal, Italy, Spain, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and even Lebanon.
The singing Varnas is ready to sing not only in Lithuanian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, but even in Arabic.
You can all predict that Sweden will be represented by a song by the legendary ABBA, and Portugal is asking for Salvador Sobral's megahit "Amor Pelos Dois", but not everything in a musical journey around the world is so easily predicted.
Dainotas Varnas selected the works very thoughtfully: they are all very well known, but a significant number also hide a surprise.
Did you know that Metallica's famous hit "Whiskey in the Jar" is actually an Irish folk song, first made famous by the band "The Dubliners"? Can you imagine that the famous "Guantanamera" originated in Cuba, and the poem that became its words was created in the 9th century? Have you heard how Frank Sinatra's legendary song "My Way" sounds in Spanish? It was sung by the legendary "Gipsy Kings". It was their version that D. Varnas included in the program.
Upon "arriving" in America, the audience is also in for a big surprise: do you want to guess the name of the American piece? That name is also the only word in the entire musical composition. The melody itself is very famous and certainly known to most people.
"It will be the most diverse linguistically and culturally, the most beautiful musically and, I dare say, the best program I have ever had. We can already hear how wonderful it sounds while rehearsing," said D. Varnas.
The program Around the World is 100 minutes long and lasts about an hour and forty minutes. It is not only a concert, but also a theatrical performance, accompanied by specially created scenography, light effects, and multimedia. “We make decorations for the stage, and for each country's song we create a light show in the colors of its flag,” the singer reveals a small part of the future visuals.
