The film by English screenwriter and director Jonathan Glazer focuses on the idyllic everyday life of the family of Auschwitz death camp commandant Rudolf Höss right next to the concentration camp wall. The commandant of Auschwitz concentration camp, Rudolf Höss, lives his dream life outside the camp walls with his wife Hedwig and two children. The unspeakable violence that unfolds nearby also reaches the idyllic home, like a chorus of ghostly voices in the background. The film won 2 Oscars and was nominated for 5 more. It stars Oscar-nominated actress Sandra Hüller ("Anatomy of a Cross").
