The Lithuanian horror film "The Caretaker" hits theaters and analyzes one of the greatest fears of our time - being unnoticed.
"In today's world, the worst nightmare for many is not being unique, not having a defining characteristic that sets you apart from others. A kind of archetype that describes you as a person. The main character of the film, who is searching for himself, realizes that his characteristic and identity is to show off his pain and suffering", the creators say and present the first trailer of the film.
According to them, the genre of horror films was chosen for the story for a reason - it gives the audience the opportunity to observe the fear of other people while maintaining the distance that the cinema screen gives them.
"We know that whatever terrible things happen there, they don't happen to us, and we are actually safe in the movie theater. This is how the main character of the film understands that even though terrible things are happening around him, he is safe", says the director of the film, Jonas Trukanas.

The story will be told here about Mari, who saves the class on the day of the school graduation - it turns out that the homestead booked by the classmates for the holiday has been canceled, and the boy's mother is a real estate agent and he can get the keys to another homestead from her. Marius didn't plan to go to prom at all, because he never fit in with the class. It always seemed to him that everyone else around him was talented and popular - and he was just plain, nothing special.
However, Marius's fifteen minutes of fame quickly come to an end, as at the party his scorned girlfriend Brigita seems more interested in future NBA star Rim than in him. Alcohol, drugs, sex... Proms are as they should be.
However, the classmates quickly find out that this homestead has its own history. Here, 20 years ago, the folk artist and woodcarver Algirdas killed his entire family. It soon becomes clear that history is repeating itself.
