Movie "My Little Wife"
The Lithuanian Cinema Center invites you to the fourth Days of Lithuanian Cinema Classics to watch the most beloved, restored and adapted for modern cinema screens from legendary Lithuanian cinema classics throughout Lithuania for free!
In the program this year, the premiere of the film "My Little Wife" (1985) by director Raimundos Banionis, restored at the LKC. This is the debut feature film of the director, whose main characters, high school students Rūta (actor Eleonora Koriznaitė), Auksė (actor Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė) and Kaunas Polytechnic Institute student Linas (actor Saulius Balandis) meet in a Kaunas outdoor cafe. Close feelings develop between Rūta, who dreams of becoming a zoologist, and Linas, and they start spending time with their friends - Linas's classmate Tomas (actor Linas Paugis), photographer Vytas (actor Juozas Marcinkevičius), his assistant Staselius (actor Arūnas Sakalauskas). Everyone in this "shack", as they call themselves, has their own problems. The film reveals the mood and feelings of young people, the young generation's desire to fight for independence and freedom to experience and create their lives the way they want.
The film will be shown with SKN subtitles (adapted for the deaf and hard of hearing).
