This is the story of Henrik, a successful businessman whose past hides a terrible secret, born when he had to confront the cruel realities of life: the death of his wife, the serious illness of his daughter, and a dramatic choice - should he save one life at the expense of another?
Henrik, a surgeon, is forced to make a terrible decision so that his daughter can live. However, even after breaking all ties with the past, starting a hotel business, and creating a safe world for his daughter, inner peace remains elusive for Henrik - haunting nightmares and a deep sense of guilt are slowly but surely destroying him from within.
When Henrikas' daughter, the beautiful Ieva, introduces him to her beloved Šarūnas and his family, not only his inner but also his outer world begins to crumble. Šarūnas' father, Motiejus, is a man with whom Henrikas shares a terrible secret. Only the two of them know that Ieva, whom Henrikas adores, lives with a terrible shadow of her past - her life was saved by the heart of her brother, Aurimas.
Henrik finds himself faced with a moral dilemma again: should he reveal the truth and risk losing his daughter's love, or keep the secret at all costs? The seemingly ideal relationship between Henrik, Ieva, Motiejs, and Šarūnas becomes increasingly tense - how long can he hide the truth when the danger is getting closer and closer?
