6:00 p.m. Holy Mass, and after it we invite you to participate in the reception of the new book about Cardinal V. Sladkevičius at the Birštonas Sacral Museum.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of His Holiness Cardinal Vincentas Sladkevičius. The exhibition reviews the life path of His Holiness Cardinal V. Sladkevičius, presents facts from his biography. The exhibition highlights the most important moments of his spiritual ministry: the difficult post-war period, his episcopate, his 23-year exile in Radviliškis and Pabiržės on the Nemunė River, the role of Bishop V. Sladkevičius in the publication of the Chronicle of the Lithuanian Catholic Church, the Cardinal's ministry, the visit of Pope John Paul II to Lithuania, and reveals the Cardinal's activities as a guarantor of national harmony. The exhibition also introduces the commemoration of Cardinal V. Sladkevičius in Lithuania.
The exhibition was prepared by the Utena Cultural Center. The exhibition is sponsored by the Lithuanian Independence Act Signatories Club. The exhibition is displayed in the Birštonas St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Sacral Museum.
