Alexander Laurs exhibition "Painting"
“I was born in 1949. Since childhood I have been interested in drawing and painting, I have spent a lot of time in various art exhibitions and galleries. 1968 - 1970 I studied painting with the famous Lithuanian artist A. Steško. 1971 I graduated from Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, majored in radio electronics. 1972 I graduated from the Painting Department of the Moscow Part-time University of the Arts. The main theme of the drawings is nature, Lithuanian landscapes. The works have been exhibited in exhibitions in Kaunas, many of the works are in personal collections in the United States. Currently, my creative workshop is in Birštonas, and nature is inspiring here. I recently had a visit to Las Vegas, USA, where I attended an exhibition of contemporary art by famous American artists. The paintings on metaphysical themes left a great impression. Inspired by this exhibition and some of the authors' works, I created this cycle of paintings. ”
