Excursion - education "Geometry in Biršton" (in Lithuanian, English, or Russian) will be organized during 2023-2026. the words expressed in the thematic priority of the cultural passport: "Encourage children's involvement in cultural activities, promote their coexistence and social equality".
Goals:
Create conditions for experiential education;
Develop cognitive, cultural, critical thinking, and creativity competencies;
To create a warm microclimate during the excursion, which would allow each student to reveal his abilities to the maximum.
By listening to the guide's story and observing various architectural buildings, students will get to know the geometric shapes in the urban landscape of Birštonas.
The tour is conducted in 3 stages.
At each stage, after the guide's narration, and clarification of information using various methods, the students will complete the tasks.
Service - the excursion "Geometry in Biršton" will encourage children's interest in the architectural styles of the Biršton resort, increase cultural awareness, and introduce them to the heritage and traditions of different countries. The tour will encourage an appreciation of art. Students will be proud to have visited one of the most important Lithuanian resorts. After the guide's narration, questions, and discussions, by modeling the architectural buildings of the old town of Birštonas and their details using various techniques, and applying knowledge of geometry, the students will better remember the most important facts of the history of Birštonas. An attractive method - modeling geometric shapes and building elements with colored rubber bands will allow you to experiment without fear of making a mistake. By modeling and combining geometric details, students will develop as artistic individuals. Imagination will be developed during the modeling of geometric shapes and physical exercise. The warm microclimate of communication created during the activities will allow to development of the competence of learning to learn. The activities will develop the ability to work individually and together, and encourage students to communicate and cooperate. During the activities, students will connect their knowledge of geometry with newly acquired experiences and apply them in real life.
