Birštonas is among the winners again: became "The most successful of 2022" in the area of tourist attraction"

As in 2015 and 2019, the resort was declared the "Most Successful Tourist Attraction". Having defeated the competitors - Kaunas district and Klaipėda city - this year Birštonas was awarded for the longest toboggan track in Lithuania, a new sports and wellness center and other significant innovations.

On January 27-29, the largest specialized international tourism exhibition "Adventur 2023" in the Baltic States takes place. On the first day of the exhibition, those who were the best at representing Lithuanian tourism in 2022 were announced. The most successful tourist attraction of 2022 was announced and awarded to the resort of Birštonas. The mayor of Birštonas municipality, Nijolė Dirginčienė, received the award on the stage of the "Litexpo" exhibition hall.

"Thank you for this honorable award. It's nice that we have so many fans of the Birštonas resort - Vētrungė once again proves that the winds are blowing in the right direction in Lithuania", the Mayor of the Municipality was happy.

Birštoni was given an honorable award for new entertainment for tourists and the annually improving infrastructure of the city. in 2022 the Birštonas sports and wellness center opened its doors here, a passenger ship pier was opened, the country's longest toboggan run "Pramogų kalnas" was installed, the first off-road park in Lithuania controlled by radio waves, a unique climbing tower "Smagu lipti" was built, the infrastructure was updated (equipped connecting both sides of the city and a pedestrian and bicycle overpass facilitating access to the observation tower).

There was no shortage of messages in the media about exclusive health treatments such as hay compress, dry mineral water or Shrek mud. Also, in response to current events, the resort organized free tours for refugees from Ukraine. This year, the Lithuanian Business Confederation awarded Birštonas municipality with the "Golden Curve" award "For activity in representing the interests of resorts and businesses operating in them".

Birštonas has won the "Most successful tourist attraction" nomination for the third time. The resort was awarded the tourism "Oscar" in 2015. and 2019 for continuing the traditions of the health resort, investing in innovations, paying attention to sustainable development, quality cultural and sports events.
