Škėvoniai cognitive nature path (1,6 km in length)
It wanders from Birštonas spur and Škėvoniai ridge formed 12 000 years ago by river Nemunas that is protected in Škėvoniai geomorphological reserve. The ridge is an "island" on the land and spur is the bump of land reminding of peninsula.
The unique Škėvoniai ridge ranges along almost 3 km from the restaurant "Birštono seklytėlė" till Prienai. In the narrowest place its width is less than 100 m, in the widest place its width is a little more than 400 m. There are a lot of interesting plants on the crest of the ridge. In the sunny side of open slopes a Cross Gentian is prevailing (Gentiana cruciata) that is included in the Red Book of Lithuania. There are very rare species of steppe moths in the sunny meadow by Nemunas: burnet moth (Zygaena ephialtes), angelica’s burnet (Zygaena angelicae) and chalkhill blue (Polyommates coridon).
In that place where Nemunas waters intensively destroyed the slope of the ridge, the rock exposure of 33 m in height and more than half a kilometer in length has formed. Škėvoniai rock exposure is included in the list of the most valuable geological objects in the Northwest Europe. In the rock exposure one can see striking sediment layers of the two last ice ages and interglacial ages. The rock exposure is presentable, however it is better to admire it by boating Nemunas or from the other bank of the river, Giraitiškė resort. There is an observation place on the very rock exposure from which one can enjoy the impressive views of river Nemunas and its valleys.
Velniabliūdis cognitive nature path (1,5 km in length)
The path is intended to be acquainted with forest and marsh communities, the most typical plants and animals. It is advisable to travel there together with a guide. The most mysterious place of the path is Velniabliūdis. This is the only upland moor in the loop of Prienai.
