37 km route: Birštonas-Puzonys-Matiešionys-Nemajūnai-Birštonas

The gravelroad goes through the woods Naudžiūnai and Siponiai, where one can find lots of mushrooms and berries, picturesque views of Prienai pinewood and river Nemunas. The travellers, arrived at Puzonys village, can explore the homestead yard of folk artist and angelic carver Rimantė Butkuvė. The nearby situated Matiešionys village is famous for the linguist professor’s J. Kazlauskas native land. The adornment of Nemajūunai village is the church of St. Peter and Paul. This is the only wooden church of neogothic style in Lithuania, which guards a unique carpet, tied by bridesribbons. Not far away there is a cemetery where stands a chapel for a writer St. Moravskis. Prof. E. Nonevicius-Nonys – a pioneer of veterinary science in Lithuania is buried in this cemetery as well.
